What to Expect in Your First Shamanic Healing Session

Your First Time? Good. Let's Talk About It.

You're curious. Maybe a little nervous. Possibly excited and terrified in equal measure.

You've read about shamanic healing. Something in you says yes to it. But you've never actually done it — and you don't know what to expect.

Will it be weird? Will you have to do something embarrassing? Will you see things? Feel things? What if nothing happens? What if too much happens?

I get it. The unknown is uncomfortable. And shamanic healing isn't exactly something our culture prepares us for.

So let me walk you through exactly what to expect — before, during, and after your first session. No mystery. No woo-woo vagueness. Just clear, honest information so you can relax into the experience and let the healing happen.

Before Your Session

We'll Have a Conversation First

Before we ever enter sacred space together, we'll talk. I want to understand what's bringing you to this work, what you're hoping to heal, your history (the broad strokes), and any fears or concerns. This helps me understand how to best serve you — and helps YOU get clear on your intentions.

How to Prepare — Days Before:

• Get clear on your intention (what do you want to heal?)

• Avoid alcohol and recreational substances for 24-48 hours

• Eat lightly the day of

• Wear comfortable clothes

• Clear your schedule after — give yourself space to integrate

What to Bring (for remote sessions):

• A quiet, private space where you won't be interrupted

• A comfortable place to lie down

• Headphones

• A blanket (you may get cold as your energy shifts)• Water nearby

During Your Session

Opening Sacred Space: Every session begins with ceremony. I call in the four directions, the elements, and the helping spirits. This creates a protected container. You don't need to do anything except be present.

What You'll Actually Do: You'll lie down, close your eyes, and relax. That's it. You don't need to perform, visualize, chant, or do anything in particular. Your job is simply to be present and receptive. I do the journeying. I do the energy work. You receive.

What You Might Experience:

Physical sensations: Warmth or coolness, tingling, heaviness or lightness, waves of energy

Emotional experiences: Tears (very common), laughter, waves of peace, old emotions releasing

Visual experiences: Colors, images, visions — or nothing visual at all

Mental experiences: Deep stillness, insights, memories surfacing, or ordinary thinking

Some people experience a lot. Some people don't experience much during the session but notice shifts in the days and months after. Both are valid. The healing is happening whether you're having fireworks or not. Trust the process.

If We're Doing Soul Retrieval: I journey to find your lost soul parts, negotiate their return, and blow them into your heart chakra and crown. Afterward, I'll share which parts returned, how old they were, what caused them to leave, and what gifts they bring back.

After Your Session

Immediately After: Take your time sitting up. Drink water. I'll share what I experienced in the journey. Most people feel noticeably different: lighter, clearer, more present, emotional, peaceful, or tired.

The Days Following — What You Might Experience:

Vivid dreams — very common, keep a journal

Emotional waves — let them move through

Memories returning — especially after soul retrieval

Shifts in perception — colors brighter, more present

Fatigue — deep healing requires energy, rest more

Detox symptoms — headaches, digestive shifts (stay hydrated)

Old patterns surfacing — coming up to be released

Integration Practices:

• Welcome what returned consciously

• Rest — seriously

• Spend time in nature

• Move your body gently

• Journal

• Avoid numbing (alcohol, excessive screen time)• Be patient — integration unfolds over time
